Jade
Living Films documentary about Jade stones from Burma to Hong Kong
Stone of heaven is a 50 minute documentary that follows the path of the ancient jade road from the mines in Northern Burma to an ordinary jade dealer's shop in Hong Kong. The people met along the way give s first hand and original account of the adventures, the mysteries, the dreams and the gambles of the jade business. Perhaps more than any other business, the jade trade has always been clocked in mystery, similar to the opaque-brown skin that hides jadeite's rich green interior.
Stone of heaven will peel away the covering, giving a glimpse of this fascinating business where entire fortunes are gambled on a single boulder and where even human lives are sometimes at stake. When the boulders are cut open in Hong Kong, the moment of truth finally arrives. If the quality is good, the men are instant millionaires. But if the quality is poor, not only there dreams, but also their lives will be shattered.
