Kanchanaburi, to the West of Bangkok is a great province for native year-round jungle, waterfalls and rivers. Many of the famous Hollywood Vietnam films were shot here. We shot parts of an Illy coffee commercial (Beauty has a taste) in a bamboo forest and along the banks of the Erawan river with it's crystal blue waters. Partly because of the beauty we captured, the spot won a Golden Lion at Cannes in 2006.

The jungle of Southern Thailand is so dense you cannot imagine penetrating it. Often flowers grow way up above the jungle because that is there only access to light. This jungle is green year round. Sometimes, though, it is hard to stage a scene if the jungle is too dense. The jungle of Northern Thailand, in contrast, tends to be more airy and as it climbs the mountains it turns from jungle into almost semi-deciduous foliage.
