[Bangkok, Thailand] – Living Films was proud to participate in the Motion Picture Association’s – Asia Pacific (MPA) recent industry forum, “Thailand’s Success Stories,” an event that brought together leading international studios and Thai production experts to celebrate the country’s growing role in global entertainment.
Our Line Producer and Partner, Apinat “Obb” Siricharoenjit, contributed to the “Case Studies” panel, sharing key production insights from the landmark FX series Alien: Earth. He highlighted Thailand’s capacity to host large-scale international productions, noting the project’s positive impact on local infrastructure and its crew of hundreds of Thai professionals.
The forum outlined a promising future for the Thai film industry, centered on several key themes:
Proven Infrastructure: Thailand has demonstrated its ability to support technically complex and lengthy productions, moving from a well-kept secret to a premier filming destination.
Collaborative Growth: Success is driven by strong partnerships between international producers, local companies, and government support, including the Thailand Film Office.
Empowering Local Talent: A significant focus was on developing Thai intellectual property (IP) and equipping local crews with the skills to tell stories for a global audience.
A Sustainable Ecosystem: Discussions covered the need for continued investment in crew training, modernized regulations, and robust content protection.
The final panel, “Strengthening the Content Industry Ecosystem,” featured experts from the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and INTERPOL. They emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in combating digital piracy, ensuring a secure environment for creative and economic investment.
