Closing A Deadly Gateway

Documentary on the trade with tigers and other endangered species.

Back to Text

Closing A Deadly Gateway is a project that aims to secure the closure of South-east Asia’s most prolific markets for Tigers and other critically endangered species.

With unique access to the leaders of the two main non-government controlled regions in northern Burma on the Chinese border, the narrative will take a fresh, never before seen angle on the tiger crisis. This unrivaled access and direct engagement with these groups will see wildlife laws implemented and enforced in this critical wildlife trade area for the first time. It will also bring to the world never-before seen footage of a region and a wildlife crisis previously known only to those engaged in the trade.

The centre of geographic attention in Burma’s northwest is a new frontier for much of the global audience, and will depict some lesser known byproducts of Asia’s economic expansion and its impact on the natural environment from new perspectives.

Closing A Deadly Gateway will raise awareness of the current threats to the Tiger’s survival; it will also clearly show how direct and immediate action is critical to saving the last remaining tigers in Asia.
