Nicolas Cage stars as a ruthless hit man in Bangkok

Living Films' newest Hollywood project was coordinating the production of "Bangkok Dangerous" which we shot through the rainy season for 9 weeks from August 12 to October 10, 2006.

The film is a re-make of the 1999 Thai film of the same name. It was directed by the Hong Kong born, Bangkok based, Pang Brothers: Oxide and Danny Pang, who also directed the original. The film is about a hit man, played by Nicolas Cage, who starts to look into his own soul after he falls for a mute Thai girl, played by Charlie Yeung.

Bangkok Dangerous was an independent production. One of the ways in which we were able to save money was to use as much local crew and talent as possible. In fact, in the end, we only ended up bringing over a handful of overseas crew: Nic Cage's makeup, costumer and stunt team, our production designer, script supervisor, head accountant, armorer, editor and visual effects supervisor were the only crew positions from abroad.

We are especially proud of the Thai crew who were integral in pulling off such a complex film. Many key positions, including the DOP, First AD and costume designer were helmed by Thais. It should be mentioned that throughout the shooting the atmosphere was upbeat both on the set and in the production office. In the end, despite shooting through a coup d'etat and making it through serious Bangkok rains and floods, we came in two days over schedule, but once again, Living Films brought the production in under budget.

Bangkok Dangerous will be released world wide in August 2008.
