An exciting ride with buyer-at-large for retail giant Anthropologie.
Back to TextKeith's job is to seek out the best in design that each country has to offer. In each 30 minute episode of Man Shops Globe, Keith travels to a new country in search of fantastic and unusual decorative objects, furniture, and textiles. He also seeks out the world's best artists and crafts people. We follow Keith as he is at work in the markets and shops, arguing prices, finding new and interesting work, and commissioning artists to do designs for the stores. Keith is also a tourist in these countries, and enjoys seeking out interesting places and great food.
In this episode of Man Shops Globe, Keith travels to Thailand to try and find new and interesting work that can't be found in the typical souvenier shop. Along with his local shopping contacts, he travels first to Bangkok to visit the larger markets, haggling alongside other buyers for antiques, amulets, sculptures, and flowers. Keith's agents make sure he has time to enjoy a boat ride on the river, local markets and more. Then Keith heads north to Chiang Mai, a quieter city where he can focus on visiting some smaller artists' studios and perhaps find a few one-of-a-kind pieces to put in Anthropologie's stores. Keith, the shopper who has seen it all, is on a treasure hunt to find new and interesting items that excite him and represent who he is.
