YES TV

What do Vietnam war explosions and singing and dancing have in common?

In April 2005 the Israeli production house POV approached us with a comic TV Spot for the new wide screen Israeli television channel "Yes-TV." With a catchy tune and a script set during the Vietnam War, the POV producers wanted us to create an entire Vietnam prison camp complete with singing and dancing American prisoners of war!

In just a few days we turned a Chiang Mai elephant farm into a realistic Vietcong prison camp. In the spot, a Vietnamese interrogator is about to practice his art on a helpless GI, when an American platoon attacks. Just as grenades and bullets start to fly and explosions shake the ground, everybody - attackers, defenders and prisoners - bursts into song and dance.

Utilizing the talents of an American choreographer based in Thailand, and Thai pyrotechnical experts, Living Films was able to synchronize 150 extras and lots of explosions and action into a comical, turbulent clip... climaxing in a joined chorus line of North Vietnamese and American soldiers.

What started out as a somewhat daunting process ended up as a hilarious and creative experience while what started out as a somewhat dubious script ended up as a unique comic TV spot with extremely high production value.
