Toyota Scion tC xA and xB

Three steamy futuristic “blade runner” TV spots for Toyota.

Living Films started the Year of the Dog with the production of a triad of interconnected spots for the 3 Toyota Scion models - the tC, xA and xB. The idea was to show the cars on their nightly tour through the empty streets of a metropolitan environment, reminding the viewer of the futuristic cityscapes from the film "Blade runner." Bangkok, with its dense and eclectic urban architecture, proved a perfect setting for the three TV spots.

However, Living Films was asked to completely close down streets in one of the densestcities in the world... and somehow (we're still not sure how) we managed to pull it off! Locations included some of the busiest parts of the Thai capital: Yaowarat; the main street of China Town and Ploenchit Rd. in front of Siam square were chosen as perfect locations for the directors vision. Living Films location department made it all possible. Because the spot asked for streets deserted of both people and vehicles... we blocked entire highways to shoot the Toyota cars from both a shot maker and from the iar. Good connections with the Royal Thai police also helped.

A Thailand based car-detailing team made sure that the Scions were always ready for their next shot while local precision drivers pulled off the intricate inner-city maneuvers through the steamy urban sprawl.
