Eddy Chu directs the new Amaretto TVC in Bangkok

The location was fixed when the new North American campaign for Di Saronno was thought up. The spot was supposed to be set at Bangkok’s famous “Vertigo”, an open air restaurant and bar on top of the 87-story Banyan Tree building.

However, when the location proved difficult and expensive, we went one step further… in six days we built our own completely controllable bar on top of another amazing building in the middle of Bangkok. This was a job for Thailand’s number one production designer Gai Kuladee who came up with an ingenious bar design that not only showcased a cool modern set, but also played to the needs of the DOP. The entire restaurant-bar set was put on wheels! As the camera moved, we could move the entire restaurant to position the best city lights as the background of each angle.

While the main cast came from Miami and Brazil, the premiered extras – an international mixture of young and beautiful people – were all found locally and joined our high flying party on top of our very own rooftop bar.
