Three Spots for Saatchi & Saatchi shot in Thailand and Cambodia

Our first job in a series of three TV-commercials (8 x mille) for Saatchi & Saatchi and the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) in Rome brought us to Kampong Chhnang, a former Khmer Rouge stronghold in Cambodia. The theme of the 30-seconds film was that of a young teacher who travels to remote villages on a motorbike loaded with schoolbooks.

The second TV commercial was shot in Phrae, Northern Thailand. It tells the touching story of a handicapped hill-tribe boy who receives education funded with the help of CEI.

The third film was shot in the slums of Bangkok. It portrays the work of Sister Angela, a charismatic aid worker with experience in many places on earth.

This series of commercials was rather unusual in the way that we were shooting protagonists and locations "as is", almost documentary-style, with high production value results.

One of our biggest concerns was to make sure that the people involved; villagers, school kids, handicapped children, orphans, slum dwellers, all had a great and memorable shoot.
