The Medallion

Jackie Chan stars in the largest budget Asian film to date

Big Dog Productions in conjunction with the Living Films team oversaw the Thai leg of Jackie Chan's "The Medallion" which was shot in and around Bangkok between for two months in early 2002.

Although Jackie had already completed the first Rush Hour in the States, "The Medallion" was being funded completely out of Hong Kong through Golden Port Productions. In fact, at the time of production "The Medallion" was the highest budget Asian film ever made.

The film stars the indomitable Jackie Chan, Lee Evans and Julian Sands. It was filmed in English with a multinational cast and crew in three countries: Ireland, Hong Kong and Thailand.

as unbelievable as it is, most of our filming in Thailand was meant to double as Ireland. We filmed in the Thai forest, planting over 8,000 Irish looking trees and plants to give the scene realism. We also filmed in Bangkok's Klong Tuey Port to double as Dublin Port. Finally, we built one of the largest sets ever built in Thailand - a seven story Irish castle which we constructed inside a Thai indoor sports arena called the Thunderdome.

Since it's theatrical release in the States in 2003, the Medallion has since been distributed in almost every country in the world.
