With Hope and Help China

Documentary film about HIV/AIDS shot throughout Yunnan Province

In this film, four Chinese people living with HIV courageously share their inspiring stories for the first time.

People living with HIV and AIDS face immense challenges. AIDS peer support groups have not yet begun in China, and new medicines are both expensive and inaccessible to the vast majority. Although understanding about AIDS is increasing, fear and misconception are still widespread.

Out of fear, Chinese people living with HIV and AIDS rarely reveal their status to even their families and friends. No one infected in China has ever fully opened up to the media.....until now.

Although Government prevention campaigns have gained success throughout the country, there is still a clear need for increased education focused toward the care and support of people living with HIV and AIDS. The people living with HIV in this film, spread a message of hope to their peers, while encouraging compassion within Chinese society.

"With Hope and Help China" is an informative film about HIV/AIDS in China that sends a positive and uplifting message about support, hope and people's ability to rise up and survive.

"With Hope and Help China" was funded by Unicef and UNAIDS and is currently being distributed throughout China.
