16mm Documentary about the early Portuguese explorers in Thailand

The first white people to ever visit Thailand were the Portuguese. In the vain of Vasco De Gama, they came as traders. "Into the Rising Sun" uncovers the past of these Portuguese explorers in Thailand.

Living Films coordinated the Thailand portions of this documentary co-production between Maryland Public Television in the United States and the Portuguese Government.

The documentary was aired on television in the United States and Europe in early 1998.
