Feature Film Shooting Logistics

Visas

Thailand requires that all overseas crew coming to work in Thailand must have a work permit. In order to apply for a work permit, everyone must have the appropriate visa. For crew who will be in Thailand working less than 15 days, we will apply for a temporary work permit which can be made with any type of visa (tourist visas and visas granted upon arrival are both fine for this.) However, for almost all feature film crew this does not apply.

For crew members who will work in Thailand more than 15 days, a regular work permit will be necessary. In order to apply for the work permit, crew members will need to first get a non-immigrant "B" visa at a Thai Consulate or Embassy before arriving in Thailand.

The procedure for facilitating this process varies depending upon whether the production has been granted a Thai film permit already by the time the Thai visa is required. It sounds a bit complicated, but it really isn't... and we're used to helping everyone through the process for each production.
