Rigging

Thailand actually excels at all types of rigging.

There are many different types of rigging needs on any given feature film: Stunt rigging/ wire rigging, rigging for lighting, camera rigging (camera vehicle, cable cam, etc.,) and special effects rigging. In Thailand there are some companies that can be brought in as subcontractors for especially tricky rigging jobs... for example, car or motorcycle stunts or complex wire stunts. These guys will show up with a rigging vehicle full of every kind of rigging tool you can imagine. They are inventive, safe and thorough.

Lighting rigging is similar. The Thai riggers are willing to climb to any height and excel at rigging intricate or hard-to-reach lighting setups. In terms of camera rigging, there are several camera car outfits available for rent in Thailand and many other camera rigs: cable cams, specially rigged camera cranes, etc. There are also very good special effects riggers in Thailand, many of whom were trained overseas.
