Feature Film Shooting Logistics
Government
Over the course of any given feature film shoot we will need to contact some if not most of the following Thai Government agencies: Royal Forestry Department, National Parks Department, Thai military (Army, Navy, Air force,) Fine Arts Department, Aviation Department, Police Department (including immigration and visa sections,) Customs Department, Revenue Department, Religious Affairs Department, Harbor Department, Agriculture Department and the Foreign Affairs Ministry. It is a must to know the ins and outs of each department and how they are or are not linked.
We didn't look forward to writing this section! When shooting in any country no one enjoys trying to figure out how to overcome the hurdles of red tape and various government permissions. This is true in Thailand as much as anywhere. We cannot claim that Government restrictions and permissions are easy here... they certainly are not. However, the best thing a company can throw at the challenge is experience and connections.
