Dailies

Thailand has two world class labs: Kantana (who are associated with Deluxe) and Technicolor lab. There are also a dozen or so post production facilities in Bangkok who can handle telecine. However, because most of these telecine houses have commercial work as their bread and butter, it is therefore important to pick a telecine house that knows how to handle feature films and can devote a room to the project. These exist as well.

In any case, at the beginning of any feature film project, Living Films will work out with the lab and telecine house the best way to organize the work flow so that the process of creating DVD dailies (or perhaps even HD dailies) is streamlined. For example, in our experience it is better to have the post house synch up the sound than the lab, although this should all be discussed in detail before the dailies work flow is decided upon.

We also have experience with creating an upload/download plan for sending dailies overseas electronically. We will encrypt the files to insure maximum security. With this system, we can save at least two days in comparison to sending dailies on DVD by Federal Express or other courier service.
