Feature Film Shooting Logistics

Animals

Over the years, we've gained a lot of experience in working with various animals in Thailand on several feature films. We have had birds, elephants, horses, monkeys, reptiles; you name it, on our sets. For "City of Ghosts" (Matt Dillon) we brought a highly trained monkey from Thailand for filming in Cambodia (the crew all fell in love with him.) During shooting of "Blackbeard" we worked with horse trainers in Southern Thailand to prepare and train Thai horses to operate Eighteenth century horse carts. For IMAX's "Sacred Planet' we worked with trained elephants in several areas of the country.

It is important to note that local authorities do not allow ‘outside' animals onto National Forest land or into National Parks. For scenes calling for a lot of four-legged extras, choosing the right locations is very important. Finding a good spot on privately owned land is often the best solution.

Thailand has a number of experienced animal wranglers who we can recommend depending on which types of trained animals are needed.
