Walt Disney Pictures and Robert Redford presents this IMAX documentary
Back to TextThe Living Films team completed shooting of Sacred Planet in early December, 2002. Two units shot for 30 days in 13 provinces all around Thailand: from the hill tribes of the far North, to the ancient Buddhist ruins of the central Sukhothai area, to the lush jungle waterfalls of Kanchanaburi Province ending at the spectacular lime stone cliffs rising out of the Southern oceans.
Thailand is one of several countries that are portrayed as Sacred Planet takes its audiences on a journey to pristine places around the world. In the vain of other large format films like "Baraka", The film showcases the beauty of nature in a few select regions to convey a strong environmental and conservation message.
Featuring the voice of Robert Redford, Sacred Planet was released on Earth day (April 22) 2004 by the largest film distribution company in North America, Buena Vista Pictures Distribution.
